BEST NEW ZEALAND ETA TIPS YOU WILL READ THIS YEAR

NZeTa will be mandatory to all eligible travelers from October 1st 2019 but it is already available. It can be easily obtained online, simplifying the process to enter New Zealand by offering travelers the option to apply directly online for a travel authorization.

The eTA for New Zealand grants its holder multiple entries to the country during its 2-year validity. Holders of the NZeTA are generally allowed to stay in the country for stays of up to 90 days from their date of arrival in New Zealand, and 180 days for UK citizens. Passports must have a minimum validity of at least three (3) months from the expected date of departure from New Zealand.
It is important to consider these points before you apply for an eta visa New Zealand:

New Zealand visa NEW ZEALAND ETA APPLICATION FORM
  • The e visa New Zealand application we offer will be considered for a visitor or student visa.
  • The eta for New Zealand eVisa issued will be valid for a period not exceeding 90 days for the purpose of tourism, visits, holidays, study and work.
  • The Evisa for New Zealand is not applicable to citizens and residents of New Zealand or Australia.

You will be ask to provide proof that you have sufficient money to support yourself financially in New Zealand upon your arrival.

Who needs an eTA for New Zealand?

At the moment, citizens from a number of nationalities can travel to New Zealand without needing a visa for up to 90 days. Nationals from the UK can enter for up to 6 months and Australians hold residency status on arrival.

From the 1st of October 2019 onwards, passport holders from all 60 visa waiver countries are required to apply for an NZeTA for tourism before departing towards the country.

NEW ZEALAND ETA ELIGIBILITY Even travellers just transiting through New Zealand on the way to a third-country destination require an NZeTA for transit.

The eTA New Zealand —for transit or tourism— is valid for a total of 2 years from the date it is issued.

All passport holders from the following 60 countries need an eTA for New Zealand

If you travel to New Zealand on holiday, you'll need to get either a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) or a visitor visa — unless you're an Australian citizen.

The New Zealand Government has introduced a new travel requirement for some visitors and transit passengers, including from visa waiver countries such as the United Kingdom.

It’s called the NZeTA - New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority.

The NZeTA is issued by Immigration New Zealand (INZ) and is required for travel from 1 October 2019.

UK passport holders must have an NZeTA issued before travelling to New Zealand, if they don’t have a visa.   Travellers need to request their NZeTA via the official mobile App or website.  Approval is usually processed that day but can take up to 72 hours.

NEW ZEALAND VISA

The information on this page covers the most common types of travel and reflects the UK government’s understanding of the rules currently in place. Unless otherwise stated, this information is for travellers using a full ‘British Citizen’ passport.

The authorities in the country or territory you’re travelling to are responsible for setting and enforcing the rules for entry. If you’re unclear about any aspect of the entry requirements, or you need further reassurance, you’ll need to contact the embassy, high commission or consulate of the country or territory you’re travelling to.

You should also consider checking with your transport provider or travel company to make sure your passport and other travel documents meet their requirements.

There are a small number of additional, limited exceptions to the ban on travelling to and entering New Zealand. The following people should seek approval from Immigration New Zealand (INZ) using the limited exceptions process:

  1. partners, dependent children (aged 24 years and under) and legal guardians of New Zealand citizens and residents
  2. Australian citizens and permanent residents who normally live in New Zealand
  3. essential health workers
  4. other essential workers who are specifically agreed to by the New Zealand Government
  5. Samoan and Tongan citizens making essential travel
  6. New Zealand-based partners and dependent children (aged 19 years and under) of a work or student visa holder who is in New Zealand
  7. critical humanitarian travel
  8. maritime crew

On arrival in New Zealand, you will also need to satisfy the Immigration Officer that you meet the criteria for visa-free entry, which includes having an onward ticket and sufficient funds to support you during your stay. You can check the full criteria on the New Zealand Immigration website. The New Zealand Government has though introduced a temporary border closure at this time.

The Electronic Travel Authority is an electronic authorisation which is issued in PDF format and is not visibly attached to the related passport. This form of visa waiver will be generated online through the designated website and will be submitted to the applicant’s inbox via email.

By gathering and screening vital information on applicants before they leave their countries, which can be verified against security databases, this new facilitation measure aims to expand security and accelerate border clearance procedures.

Many countries around the world already have or are presently implementing comparable measures to strengthen their borders and simplify the visa application process. The United States requires travellers from many countries, including the UK, to apply for their Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA), which is also completed online and is valid for two years.

Australia’s Electronic Travel Authority grants affected travellers a stay of up to 90 days for tourism or business purposes.

Europe’s ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) will roll out in 2021. Visitors travelling to the Schengen Area will need this travel authorisation prior to embarking on their trip. The EU Commission has confirmed that travellers who are United Kingdom citizens will need to complete the online ETIAS application form to visit Europe after Brexit.

NEW ZEALAND VISA

An Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) is an entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to and through Canada by air, and all applicable passengers must have obtained an eTA prior to their flight.

NZETA
The authorisation is electronically linked to passports and is valid for five years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. Travellers need to travel with the same passport they used when they applied for and obtained their eTA.

ETA NEW ZEALAND

Applying for an eTA is an easy online process that will take just a few minutes. You need your passport, a credit card, and an email address. It costs CAD $7 and in most cases the eTA will be granted within minutes of applying.
